Located about 12 kilometers from Sapa town, Silver Waterfall (Thác Bạc) is one of the most striking natural attractions in Sapa. With water plunging from a height of over 200 meters, it’s a must-visit destination for travelers while in Sapa. The name “Silver Waterfall” comes from the silvery-white foam created as the water crashes down the cliff face, visible even from a distance.

Silver Waterfall is part of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range and is fed by upstream sources on Mount Fansipan. Surrounded by pine forests and rugged terrain, the waterfall cascades dramatically into a deep ravine, offering a refreshing and powerful spectacle for visitors.
The site is easily accessible by road, making it a popular stop on the route toward Tram Ton Pass. Its thunderous flow, cool mist, and picturesque setting make it one of the highlights of any Sapa itinerary.
Visiting Silver Waterfall Sapa
On my visit, the sound of water crashing against the rocks was the first to greet me. A short walk up a stone stairway led to the viewing platforms, where the entire waterfall unfolded in front of me like a silver curtain drawn across the mountain.
Mist from the falls clung to my skin as I leaned against the railing, watching the water tumble through mossy rocks and into the pool below. The cool air was a refreshing contrast to the town’s warmth, and the surrounding greenery gave it an almost fairytale-like feel. I spent time simply sitting on the rocks nearby, letting the roar of the water drown out all distractions.
